The Houston rodeo has many activities ranging from rides, show animals, painting, food competitions and concerts. Not many people focus on the food competitions that happen on the very first few days it is open. One interesting one is the barbeque contest

The majority of this contest is invitation only, meaning the food must have been of high quality to be invited to the contest. There are over 250 teams that compete in this contest. Everyone who goes to the rodeo is welcome to try each booth, which is beneficial to the cooks.

To attend in my opinion is really cheap. Only $20 for admission parking prices vary depending on which parking lot you choose to stay at.
